Bookreview: Why They Stay

Sex Scandals, Deals, and Hidden Agendas of
Eight Political Wives

"You can't put this book away."

Summary

Why do good women stay with bad men?
What if political wives are just as calculating as their infamous husbands?

If Hilary Clinton had left her marriage, she might only be known as
the spurned wife of a retired politician. Instead, she became the first
woman to run for U.S. president on a major party ticket.

Why They Stay reveals the inner lives of eight political wives as they
fight to maintain a grip on power and pursue personal ambition:

My Review

I would like to start with a "warning" for this book. It's a very dangerous
one, because you can't put it away when you start reading.

The topics were interesting and the author has a fluent writing style which
I liked a lot.

I would recommend Why They Stay to all people who want to like to know
more about some first ladies of the United States and ladies who are married
to leading men in the showbizz and media. It really is a wonderful book.

I give without any doubts a 5 star rating.

The author

Anne Michaud is an author of many talents, especially getting distracted by
depressing music and dark things. She likes to write and read everyday, and
speak of herself in the third person.

Since her Master’s degree in Screenwriting from the University of London,
England, Anne has written, directed and produced three short films, distributed
internationally after being shown on a selective festival circuit.

And then, after hundreds of hours spent on studying and making films, she
changed her mind and started writing short stories, novelettes and novels.
Some have been published, others will be soon enough.

Living in Joyful Resilience: A Roadmap for Navigating Life’s Ups and Downs

 Well worth reading

Summary

The book is a Call-to-Action blueprint for creating recurring joy and stronger
resilience in your life. It provides thought-provoking research into the difference
between being merely resilient and being joyfully resilient. Drawing from psychology,
education and neuroscience, the book explains how joyfulness contributes to the
responses that enable us to bounce back from adversity, thriving not just surviving.
Included are resilience stories from the author and ten contributors that will resonate
with your own life and inspire you.

My review

I really enjoyed this book. You feel the passion of the author in the way she tells.
It also was well worth reading from the beginning till the end.

It's good to see things written down from another point of view than yours. So I
absolutely want to recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the
psychology of habits (and changing habits).

Of course I give with lots of pleasures a 5 star rating, and I hope the author will
write some more books about this topic because she's really passionate about it.
